Administrative Associate

REPORTS TO: Executive Director



The Center for Third World Organizing is a racial justice organization dedicated to building social justice movements led by people of color. We were established in 1980 as a training and resource center that promotes and sustains direct-action organizing in communities of color in the United States.

We believe in creating a pipeline of organizers that are equipped with both the fundamentals of organizing as well as new, innovative and creative tactics & strategies. We believe that those historically marginalized should lead this fight.



THE OPPORTUNITY:

CTWO seeks an Administrative Associate to support the Executive Director. This position is a part-time role for a highly organized and dedicated administrator and organizer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide primary administrative support to the Executive Director and Operations Team
  • Manage busy schedules, and anticipate necessary background material, directions, and other items required for meetings.
  • Maintain busy calendars, schedule meetings, and ensure the Executive Director arrives at meetings on time
  • Handle a broad range of duties from day to day operational activities to scheduling meetings and correspondence with external partners and their assistants
  • Manage work priorities through project management tools.
  • Managing information flow in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in brainstorming sessions
  • Manage a large volume of travel planning including airline reservations, hotel accommodations, car rental reservations, car service arrangements, and driving directions as needed
  • Process and track expense reports and reimbursements
  • Performing ad hoc projects as needed for the Operations Team

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • You are attentive to details and systems-minded. You love - or at least, are very comfortable with a spreadsheet, database, and other project management tools.

  • You are values-driven. You have a strong commitment to Racial and Economic Justice.
  • You are a problem solver and an accountable self-starter. You know when to ask for help, but also don’t mind brainstorming potential solutions. You can look at a page of notes, pull out the follow-up items, and get started.



TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • 3-years of experience with substantial administrative and project management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with G-Suite, Calendly, and Asana
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Desire to work in the Social Justice field.

COMPENSATION

CTWO offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive, progressive benefits program to attract, retain, and motivate a high-performing and dedicated workforce. The salary range for this position is full time $25,000/year - 30,000/year. This is a 20-hour, Monday-Friday, position. Benefits that are included is:
